Developing, Learning and Participation in Schools
This index, published by the CSNE, aims to support the inclusive development of schools and helping everyone to find their own next steps in developing an inclusive setting.
Instead of focusing on students associated with impairments this document states that inclusion is about the education of all children and young people by involving a detailed examination of how barriers to learning and participation can be reduced for any student.
The Index was produced over a three year period, piloted in six primary and secondary schools in in England and is to be constantly reviewed and reworked for a best possible outcome.
This edition simplifies the language of the previous versions and contains other modifications in response to comments on, and observations of it's use.
